The Filolo Portugal Summer Camp offers you the chance to combine 7.5 hours of relaxed English language lessons with a 12,5-hour week-long surf course on Portugal's stunning West Coast.
Our location gives you the safety and security of a small beachtown within an hour’s drive of both Lisbon and Sintra - meaning you can relax and soak up the sun with exciting and dynamic excursions just around the corner!
One week at Filolo's Surf Camp includes:
- 12.5h of surf lessons, Monday to Friday, with equipment included – subject to waves, conditions, and skill level
- Guaranteed maximum of 8 children per surf course
- 6 nights & full board
- Wetsuit, surfboard, and zinc sunscreen
- Leisure program
- 24/7 supervision
- Registration fee & certificate of completion
- Extras: 7,5h English language course

Surf camp in Portugal
Our unique Surf Camp takes place at the Underdog Beach House in Praia da Areia Branca in Western Portugal, less than an hours drive from Lisbon. The entire beach house is exclusively available to us and looks onto the beach, which is literally just a few steps away!

Transfer from Lisbon Airport to the camp.
Dinner, icebreaker games, rules briefing, bedtime at 10:30 PM. -
Monday
Morning: Surfing lesson from 9:30 AM to 1:00 PM.
Afternoon: Language classes or workshops from 3:00 PM to 5:30 PM.
Evening: Barbecue and group games. -
Tuesday
Morning: Surfing lesson from 9:30 AM to 1:00 PM.
Afternoon: Excursion 1 – Go-karting.
Evening: Movie night. -
Wednesday
Morning: Surfing lesson from 9:30 AM to 1:00 PM.
Afternoon: Language classes or workshops from 3:00 PM to 5:30 PM.
Evening: Relaxed evening. -
Thursday
Morning: Surfing lesson from 9:30 AM to 1:00 PM.
Afternoon and Evening: Excursion 2 – Lisbon or Berlengas Islands, plus a visit to Peniche with free time. -
Friday
Morning: Surfing lesson from 9:30 AM to 1:00 PM.
Afternoon: Language classes or workshops from 3:00 PM to 5:30 PM.
Evening: Themed evening or summer disco. -
Saturday
Sleep in.
Return flight from Lisbon.
Note: The programme we have provided for our surf camp is merely a sample. Surfing is a sport shaped by a unique combination of nature and human conditions. Therefore, our programme is subject to change depending on wave conditions, heat, fatigue, and other factors. Rest assured, you will get all your surf and language lessons, a top-notch learning experience, and the holiday of a lifetime! We might just shuffle things around a little bit.

Group House & Surf Lessons
Just a 5-minute walk from the beach, Underdog Surf House is designed for young surfers to feel at home. Spacious rooms with en-suite bathrooms provide comfort after long days in the waves. The pool and sun deck offer space to relax, while the private garden is perfect for unwinding. For downtime, there’s a pool table and table football to keep the energy going. From the top floor, the sound of the ocean drifts through the windows, and the waves are always in sight. Safe, welcoming, and built for adventure—this is where surf memories begin
For surf courses, we partner with Ripar Surf School, a fully certified and accredited Portuguese surf provider. With experienced instructors and a strong focus on safety and technique, young surfers receive professional guidance tailored to their level. Whether beginners or more advanced, they’ll gain confidence in the water while having fun
Food
In our surf and language camp in Portugal, food is also the focus, as our own kitchen team specially prepare meals that offer a perfect blend of flavour and nutrition. Expect freshly prepared meals using locally sourced vegetables, fish and seafood, as well as Portuguese cheeses and of course, the famous Pastel de Nata! We do, of course, cater to dietary requirements of all shapes and sizes, from the casual dislikes to the potentially fatal - just be sure to let us know and our kitchen team will have you covered!
