Booking & availability

Can my child join for 1 week only? Can we book multiple weeks?

Yes — both are possible. If your child stays for multiple weeks, they remain in camp over the weekend with full supervision and a fun weekend program.

How is my child’s place confirmed?

After registering through our booking form, you will receive a confirmation email right away. Your invoice will be sent separately within the next 2 days. If you do not see it, please make sure to check your spam folder as well.

Can we register now and decide travel details later (Geneva vs Zurich)?

Yes, absolutely. It’s still early for many families — you can book first and confirm the travel details as soon as your flights/trains are fixed.

Ages, groups & friends

What age group is the FILOLO Summer Camp in St. Cergue for?

Our Summer Camp in St. Cergue is open to children and teenagers aged 10 to 17. We welcome both Swiss and international children and make sure the atmosphere feels age-appropriate, friendly, and supportive

How do you group children?

We group kids by age and language level (and by activity level where relevant). Our goal is that everyone feels comfortable and well matched. For room allocation, we also group by age — and boys and girls sleep in separate rooms.

My child is coming with a friend — can they be in the same room?

Yes, of course. Just mention the friend request in the registration notes and we’ll do our best to accommodate it.

My child is shy / it’s their first time away — how do you help them integrate?

We take this very seriously: warm welcome routines, team games, small groups, and staff who actively help kids connect from day one.

Is the camp international?

Yes. Our Summer Camp in St. Cergue welcomes children from Switzerland, across Europe, and beyond. The camp atmosphere is international and multilingual, which gives children plenty of natural opportunities to practise languages and make new friends.

Program & daily routine

What does a typical day look like?

Mornings are usually dedicated to language lessons. In the afternoons and evenings, children enjoy a varied programme of excursions, outdoor activities, games, sports, creative workshops, and group activities.

How many kids participate in Summer Camp?

Each week, around 60 to 80 children and teenagers participate in our Summer Camp. We also have a large team of staff on site to supervise the group and create a safe, fun, and supportive camp atmosphere.

What kind of activities are included?

Outdoor games, sports, creative workshops, local outings and excursions, plus our evening program (campfire-style moments, games, talent nights, etc.).

Language lessons

Which languages can my child learn at camp?

Children can learn French, English, or German at camp. We welcome all levels, from complete beginners to advanced learners.

How do you place kids into the right language level?

We do a placement test on arrival (and observe during the first day). If needed, we adjust groups so every child is in the right level.

How many hours of language lessons are included?

The camp week includes 15 hours of language lessons per week, usually taught over five mornings.

How big are the language classes?

Our classes are intentionally small, with a maximum of 6 students per teacher. This gives each child more speaking time, more personal attention, and a more relaxed learning environment than they often get at school.

Can beginners join?

Yes — beginners are very welcome. The focus is on building confidence and speaking skills in a supportive, fun environment. We do lots of small-group games and a warm integration from day one, and staff keep a close eye to help kids settle in.

Can siblings choose different languages in the same week?

Yes (depending on the session set-up). They can follow different language tracks and still share the same camp life, meals, activities, and excursions.

Accommodation & daily life

What are the rooms like? How many kids share a room?

Children stay in our camp houses, Château Monteret and Maison Blanche, in St. Cergue. The standard accommodation included in the camp price is in shared dormitory-style 10-bed rooms. For families who prefer more comfort or privacy, 5-bed rooms and double rooms are available at an extra charge. Bathrooms are shared on each floor and separated for boys and girls.

Are boys and girls accommodated separately?

Yes. Boys and girls sleep in separate rooms and sleeping areas.

What should my child bring (bedding, towels)?

We share a full packing list before camp. Kids need to bring their own sleeping bag and towel, plus their personal clothing and essentials.

Do kids have free time?

Yes — we include structured free time (always supervised), so kids can relax, play, or chat with friends.

Can my child do laundry at camp?

Yes. A laundry service is available at camp at no extra charge. If needed, children can give their laundry to a supervisor during the week. Laundry should be sorted properly, and FILOLO cannot be held responsible for damage such as colour transfer, shrinkage, or care-label issues.

Food, allergies & health

Can you accommodate allergies and special diets?

Yes. We can cater for vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, lactose-free, and other dietary needs at no extra charge. It’s important to let us know in advance so we can prepare everything properly.

My child takes medication — can you manage it?

Yes. We have a clear medication process (safe storage and supervised administration if needed).

What happens if my child gets sick?

We take care of them, keep you informed, and if necessary we visit a local doctor/pharmacy.

Do we need insurance?

Yes — kids should have valid health/accident insurance.

Safety, rules & supervision

How is supervision organized?

We supervise children 24/7, including evenings and nights. Our team ensures clear rules, safe boundaries, and a supportive atmosphere.

What are the camp rules (phones, bedtime, leaving the site)?

We share the full rules before camp. In general: age-appropriate routines, respectful behavior, and phone guidelines that keep kids present and connected.

Phone policy & parent updates

Do kids keep their phones? What’s your phone policy?

We have a clear phone rule to support real camp life and wellbeing. Phones can be used for around 1 hour per day, usually after dinner, to call/message home. Outside of that time, phones are kept safely by our team and are not available — especially at night, so everyone gets proper sleep.

How do parents get updates?

Parents receive updates through our dedicated group, the Filolo Parents Club (photos, news & camp updates).

Travel, arrival & transfers

What are the arrival/departure times?

We communicate the exact times and meeting points in the pre-camp info email. Arrival is on Sunday and departure is on Saturday. If you have a special request regarding arrival or departure, please contact us and we’ll do our best to help.

Do you offer accompanied travel?

Yes — we offer an accompanied train ride from Zurich and Geneva (see prices). Children travel together with our staff, and they can also join along the same route (for example in Olten or other stops on the way).

Do you offer airport transfers?

Yes — we offer airport transfers from Geneva Airport (see prices). A transfer from Zurich Airport can be organised in some occasions, but only upon request — please contact us in advance so we can confirm availability and the best option.

Do you support the Unaccompanied Minor (UM) service?

Yes — if your airline offers an Unaccompanied Minor service, it’s included in the airport transfer price.

Payment & invoice

When do we receive the invoice?

Shortly after registration — sometimes immediately. In general, you will receive the invoice within a maximum of 2 days after submitting your registration.

Can we pay in EUR?

Yes — depending on your preference. We use the currency exchange rate valid on the day we send the invoice, and we will provide the relevant account details.

I didn’t receive your email/invoice — what should I do?

First, please check your spam folder. If you still can’t find it, just let us know and we will resend the invoice right away.

Do you offer discounts (siblings / bring-a-friend)?

Yes — if applicable, mention it in the registration notes and we’ll confirm it. We will include the discount directly on the invoice.

Packing list

What should my child pack for Summer?

We’ll send a detailed packing list, but generally: layers, a waterproof jacket, warm hoodie, comfortable shoes, and everyday essentials.

What should my child not bring?

Expensive valuables and anything that could disturb camp life — we recommend keeping it simple.
